My client are seeking a proactive and skilled Assistant Site Manager to join their team, contributing to the successful delivery of civil engineering projects.

This role offers a diverse range of responsibilities, making it an excellent opportunity for someone looking to further develop their site management career within a dynamic environment.

Key Responsibilities:

* Manage 3 to 6 active sites of varying values.
* Coordinate with client representatives and subcontractors to ensure smooth project execution.
* Work with the Contract Manager, Business Manager, and commercial team to plan and program complex works, including forward planning for labour, plant, and materials.
* Organize and call off materials, equipment, and staffing to maintain project progress.
* Oversee daily site operations, including plant and equipment management.
* Prepare and implement Method Statements, Risk Assessments, and site-specific safety protocols.
* Maintain accurate site records, including labour, plant, materials, daily diaries, and photographic documentation.
* Ensure compliance with the company's Site Managers Manual and all relevant safety and quality standards.
* Conduct site inductions, maintain timekeeping, and manage personnel on-site.
* Represent the company professionally at all times.
* Operate the Permit to Dig system and report accidents or near misses to Head Office.
* Liaise with the public and local businesses as required.
* Support the Quantity Surveyor and Contracts Manager with measurements, claims, and financial reporting.

Candidate Requirements:

Essential:

* Proven experience in a supervisory role within civil engineering.
* Strong people management and organizational skills.
* Full UK driving license.
* Highly motivated, with excellent communication skills and a team-oriented mindset.
* Relevant qualifications, such as CSCS, NRSWA, SMSTS, or equivalent.
* Experience in financial management of costs and maintaining accurate project records.
* Ability to work to tight deadlines with high attention to detail.

Desirable:

* Proficiency in MS Project, Word, and Excel.
* Experience with Local Authority highway projects.
* Confined Spaces qualification and IOSH certification.
* Experience managing several smaller sites concurrently.
* Some experience in quantity surveying.
