About the Company:

Our client is a multi-award-winning principal contractor and retrofit specialist, delivering large-scale renewable energy and decarbonisation schemes across the social housing and domestic sectors. With a strong reputation for delivering high-quality energy efficiency solutions at scale, they are expanding their in-house renewables team to meet increasing demand for Solar PV and battery storage installations.



Role Overview:

We are recruiting for a Solar PV Technical Manager to lead the technical delivery of solar PV and battery storage projects nationwide. This is a senior-level, operational role with responsibility for managing installation teams, ensuring compliance with technical standards, and acting as the MCS Nominated Technical Person (NTP). The ideal candidate will be a qualified electrician with hands-on solar experience and strong project and team management capabilities.



Key Responsibilities:

* Lead and manage end-to-end delivery of solar PV and battery storage installations
* Supervise both direct labour and subcontractors, ensuring compliance with MCS and health andamp; safety standards
* Serve as the primary technical contact for clients throughout project delivery
* Oversee project timelines, site activities, and material procurement
* Conduct site inspections at key stages, including final commissioning and handover
* Compile and issue technical documentation and reports
* Manage DNO applications and grid connection processes
* Act as the MCS Nominated Technical Person (NTP) for the business



Requirements:

* NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Installation (or equivalent), AM2, and 18th Edition
* Valid Testing andamp; Inspection qualification (e.g., City andamp; Guilds 2391 or equivalent)
* Minimum 3 years' experience in the electrical industry
* At least 2 years' experience with domestic Solar PV installations
* Strong knowledge of battery storage systems and DNO/grid compliance
* Proven experience managing teams and technical delivery
* Full UK driving licence



Desirable:

* Level 3 in Electrical Energy Storage Systems (EESS) or equivalent
