Location: Cheshire

Your new company

This is an exciting opportunity to join a leading, well-established UK contractor with a strong pipeline of high-profile public and private sector projects across the North West. The company has a proven track record of delivering technically complex construction schemes, particularly within the healthcare, education, and commercial sectors. They pride themselves on quality, collaboration, and a people-first culture that promotes professional growth and long-term career development.

Your new role

Our client is seeking a Senior Quantity Surveyor to join their commercial team on a £20 million major healthcare project in Cheshire. The project involves a blend of refurbishment, RAAC mitigation, and fast-track fit out works, requiring attention to detail, pace, and proactive commercial management. You will be involved from pre-construction through to final accounts, working closely with operational teams, supply chain partners, and the client to ensure financial success and contractual compliance throughout.

Responsibilities will include:

*

Managing the full commercial lifecycle of the project from procurement to final account.
*

Preparing and reviewing tender documentation and subcontractor packages.
*

Monitoring project costs, budgets, variations, and valuations.
*

Managing subcontractor payments, applications, and disputes.
*

Liaising with the client and internal stakeholders to report on commercial performance.
*

Producing accurate cost forecasts and identifying value engineering opportunities.
*

Contributing to risk management and mitigation strategies.
*

Supporting junior QS staff where appropriate.
*

Ensuring full compliance with contract conditions and company procedures.

What you will need to succeed:

*

Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor or Senior QS in the healthcare, commercial, or public sector build environment.
*

Strong knowledge of groundworks, new build, and refurbishment methodologies.
*

A solid understanding of JCT and NEC contracts.
*

Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
*

A professional network including national and regional housebuilders is highly advantageous.
*

Degree-qualified in Quantity Surveying or a related field.
*

Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.

What you get in return:

*

Competitive salary of £70,000 - £75,000 depending on experience.
*

Attractive package including car allowance, private healthcare, enhanced pension, and holiday entitlement.
*

Flexible working arrangements and a supportive, inclusive culture.
*

The chance to join a contractor with an excellent reputation for delivering complex schemes on time and to budget.
*

Genuine opportunity for career progression within a company that actively promotes from within.
