Your new role
Our client is seeking an Assistant Quantity Surveyor to join their team in Bolton, working on new build design andamp; build housing projects. This role offers a fantastic opportunity for a motivated individual to develop their commercial skills while gaining hands-on experience across the full project lifecycle. Working closely with senior commercial staff, you'll be involved in cost management, procurement, and contract administration on exciting housing developments.

Responsibilities will include:

Supporting senior surveyors in the financial and commercial management of new build housing projects.

Assisting in the preparation of budgets, cost plans, and valuations.
*

Supporting the procurement process, including tender preparation and subcontractor appointment.
*

Monitoring project costs and progress to ensure delivery within budget.
*

Assisting with payment applications, variations, and final account preparation.
*

Liaising with site teams and subcontractors to ensure accurate reporting and cost control.
*

Gaining exposure to contract administration, particularly JCT contracts.
*

Maintaining accurate records and assisting with monthly reporting.

What you will need to succeed:

A degree (or working towards) in Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management, or a related field.
*

Some previous experience within construction, ideally in new build or housing, is desirable but not essential.
*

Strong numerical and analytical skills.
*

Good communication and organisational abilities.
*

A proactive approach with a willingness to learn and develop.
*

Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
*

Competency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel.
