Your new role
Our client is seeking an experienced Senior Estimator to join their Manchester pre-construction team. This role offers the chance to play a pivotal part in securing major projects valued at £10 million and above. You will be responsible for managing the full tendering process, preparing accurate cost estimates, and supporting the business in winning work across multiple sectors.

Responsibilities will include:

* Preparing detailed cost estimates and tender submissions for major projects.
* Leading the bid process, working collaboratively with pre-construction and delivery teams.
* Analysing drawings, specifications, and contract documents to produce accurate pricing.
* Engaging with supply chain partners to obtain competitive quotations.
* Identifying value engineering opportunities and innovative solutions.
* Assessing risks and opportunities within bids and supporting commercial strategies.
* Presenting estimates and tender reports to senior management.
* Contributing to business development by maintaining strong client and consultant relationships.

What you will need to succeed:

* Proven experience as an Estimator or Senior Estimator with a Tier 1 main contractor.
* Strong background in estimating large-scale projects across education, healthcare, industrial, and custodial sectors.
* Experience with schemes valued at £10m+.
* Excellent knowledge of construction methods, processes, and cost drivers.
* Strong negotiation and communication skills, with the ability to influence at all levels.
* Proficiency in estimating software and MS Office packages.
* Degree qualified in a relevant discipline (e.g. Quantity Surveying, Construction Management) or equivalent experience.
