Customer Care Operative

Location: North West
Reports To: Customer Care Manager
Department: Customer Service / Aftercare
Salary: £37,000 per annum + up to 10% discretionary bonus

Job Purpose:

To deliver outstanding aftercare support to customers following the completion and handover of their new home. The Customer Care Operative is responsible for resolving defects, carrying out minor remedial works, and ensuring a smooth and professional service experience that reflects the company's high standards.

Key Responsibilities:

Customer Service andamp; Repairs:

*

Attend customer properties to assess and complete minor repairs or defects efficiently and to a high standard.
*

Carry out a range of multi-trade tasks, including basic carpentry, plumbing, painting, tiling, and mastic work.
*

Ensure all works are completed cleanly and safely with minimal disruption to homeowners.

*

Communication:

*

Act as a professional representative of the company, maintaining strong customer relationships.
*

Clearly explain works to customers, including scope, duration, and any follow-up required.
*

Provide feedback to the Customer Care team on common issues or reoccurring defects.

*

Administration andamp; Reporting:

*

Use company systems to log visits, complete job reports, and track materials used.
*

Maintain van stock levels and ensure tools and equipment are in good working order.

*

Health andamp; Safety:

*

Follow all company Handamp;S policies and procedures while working in customer homes.
*

Complete risk assessments as required and ensure works are carried out safely and responsibly.

Requirements:

*

Proven experience in a similar Customer Care or Multi-Trade role within the housebuilding or construction industry.
*

Skilled in a range of general building trades.
*

Strong customer service and interpersonal skills.
*

Able to work independently, solve problems on site, and manage time effectively.
*

Full UK driving licence required.

Desirable:

*

CSCS card
*

NVQ or City andamp; Guilds trade qualification
*

Asbestos Awareness and First Aid training
