Our client is a specialist façade and building envelope contractor delivering bespoke external solutions to a wide range of commercial and residential projects across the UK. With a strong reputation for technical excellence and a collaborative, design-led approach, they provide high-quality rainscreen cladding, aluminium façades, and architectural detailing from concept through to completion. Due to sustained growth and a healthy order book, they are now looking to expand their design team with the appointment of an experienced CAD Designer.

Your new role

Our client is seeking a CAD Designer with proven experience in rainscreen cladding systems to join their growing technical team based in Stockport. Working closely with project managers, estimators, and clients, you will be responsible for producing accurate and detailed 2D and 3D drawings for a variety of façade projects, ensuring all designs meet specification, buildability, and compliance requirements.

Responsibilities will include:

Producing high-quality technical drawings, elevations, and fabrication details for rainscreen cladding systems and associated components.
*

Preparing and revising CAD models for tender, design, and construction stages.
*

Liaising with architects, contractors, and suppliers to clarify design details and resolve technical queries.
*

Contributing to value engineering and design optimisation to improve project efficiency and aesthetics.
*

Assisting with material take-offs and ensuring drawings align with project budgets and schedules.
*

Supporting the project delivery team throughout installation, offering design and technical support when required.
*

Maintaining accurate design documentation and adhering to internal QA procedures.

What you will need to succeed:

Proven background as a CAD Designer / Façade Technician within the building envelope or rainscreen cladding sector.
*

Proficiency in AutoCAD (and ideally Revit or SolidWorks for 3D modelling).
*

Strong understanding of façade systems, aluminium detailing, and fixing methods.
*

Ability to interpret architectural and structural drawings.
*

Excellent attention to detail and a methodical approach to producing accurate, buildable designs.
*

Confident communicator, able to liaise effectively with internal teams and external stakeholders.
*

HNC/HND or degree in a relevant field (Construction, Design, or Engineering) preferred.
