Our client is a well-established property development and construction consultancy based in Leeds, specialising in both commercial and residential projects. They manage end-to-end projects from feasibility and design through to delivery, with a focus on high-quality build standards and innovation across projects up to £25 million in value.

Your new role:
Our client is seeking an experienced Build Estimator to join their team. The successful candidate will play a key role in accurately preparing cost plans, evaluating tenders, and supporting the delivery of both commercial and residential developments. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who thrives in a dynamic, fast-paced environment and enjoys working on projects of significant scale and complexity.

Responsibilities will include:

Preparing detailed cost estimates for commercial and residential construction projects up to £25 million.

Analysing project plans, specifications, and drawings to ensure accurate cost evaluation.
*

Preparing tender documentation and managing the tendering process.
*

Evaluating subcontractor and supplier quotes and negotiating pricing where necessary.
*

Collaborating with design, planning, and project management teams to develop cost-effective solutions.
*

Monitoring project costs throughout the lifecycle and updating forecasts as required.
*

Identifying potential risks and providing proactive cost mitigation advice.
*

Contributing to value engineering initiatives to maximise project outcomes.

What you will need to succeed:

Proven experience as a Build Estimator on projects up to £25 million, including both commercial and residential developments.
*

Strong knowledge of Evaluate or equivalent estimating software.
*

Excellent understanding of construction methods, materials, and processes.
*

Strong numerical, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
*

Ability to read and interpret architectural and engineering drawings.
*

Effective communication and negotiation skills with clients, subcontractors, and internal teams.
*

A proactive approach with attention to detail and accuracy.
