Bid Writer

Cheshire

£40,000 - £45,000 per annum

Your new company

A highly reputable construction and engineering contractor based in Cheshire, delivering complex healthcare and public-sector building projects across the UK. With a strong focus on innovation and sustainability, this organisation has built a solid reputation for delivering modern, high-quality facilities using advanced construction methods. Their projects range from modular healthcare buildings and diagnostic centres to large-scale clinical and technical facilities valued up to £20 million.

Your new role

Our client is seeking an experienced Bid Writer to join their established pre-construction and business development team. This role will involve managing and producing winning tender submissions for major public-sector and healthcare projects. You will play a key role in shaping proposals, developing persuasive bid narratives, and coordinating contributions from technical and commercial teams to secure new business opportunities.

Responsibilities will include:

*

Managing the full bid process from initial opportunity to submission and post-tender review.
*

Writing, editing, and formatting compelling bid and proposal documents for NHS and public-sector contracts.
*

Interpreting tender specifications, identifying win themes, and developing persuasive written content.
*

Collaborating with design, project, and commercial teams to gather technical input, case studies, and supporting material.
*

Maintaining and updating a central library of bid content, templates, and project case studies.
*

Ensuring all bids are compliant, high quality, and aligned with client requirements and company objectives.
*

Managing bid schedules, progress meetings, and submission deadlines to ensure timely delivery.
*

Supporting presentations and interviews as part of the tender clarification or award process.
*

Contributing to continuous improvement in bid strategy, style, and success rates.

What you will need to succeed:

*

Proven experience as a Bid Writer / Proposal Writer / Tender Writer within construction, engineering, or a related technical sector.
*

Strong understanding of public-sector procurement, ideally with experience on healthcare projects up to £20 million.
*

Excellent written communication skills with the ability to translate technical information into persuasive, client-focused language.
*

Strong organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple bids simultaneously under tight deadlines.
*

A collaborative and proactive approach to working with cross-functional teams.
*

Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint; experience with document management or bid software is advantageous.
*

APMP accreditation or a willingness to work toward it would be beneficial.

What you get in return:

You'll join a forward-thinking and growing business that values innovation, collaboration, and career development. The successful candidate will enjoy:

*

A competitive salary of £40,000 - £45,000 depending on experience.
*

Hybrid working arrangements with flexibility around home and office working.
*

25 days annual leave plus bank holidays.
*

Company pension scheme and private health benefits.
*

Ongoing training and professional development opportunities.
*

The chance to work on meaningful, high-impact projects that improve healthcare infrastructure across the UK.

This is an excellent opportunity for a talented Bid Writer seeking long-term progression and the chance to play a pivotal role in securing major projects for a respected construction specialist.
