Electrical Design Engineer

Our client, a leading electrical contractor, is seeking an experienced Electrical Design Engineer to join their team. This role offers the opportunity to work on high-profile projects, delivering innovative electrical solutions across low voltage (LV) systems.

Key Responsibilities

* Translate project objectives into practical, compliant electrical designs.
* Design, specify, and model electrical installations, including load calculations, fault level assessments, and protective device coordination.
* Ensure all designs and on-site work comply with relevant standards, regulations, and best practices.
* Develop technical specifications for electrical equipment.
* Present design concepts clearly through meetings, technical documentation, and detailed drawings.
* Act as a technical representative in client and contractor meetings, demonstrating expertise and professionalism.
* Conduct site surveys, inspections, and monitor on-site activities to maintain project integrity.
* Manage project delivery aspects with a focus on budget, cost control, and timely execution.
* Produce detailed reports and maintain accurate project records.
* Foster collaboration and effective communication across multidisciplinary teams to achieve project goals.

Qualifications andamp; Experience

* HND/HNC or equivalent in Electrical Engineering (essential).
* Minimum 5 years' experience in electrical design, ideally within utility or connection projects.
* Proficient in Microsoft Office and electrical modelling software such as Amtech, ETAP, or Power Factory.
* Familiarity with relevant technical standards.
* Strong report writing skills and basic AutoCAD proficiency.
* IET registration or willingness to obtain professional registration in the near future.
* Self-motivated, with the ability to manage workload independently.
