Assistant Estimator - Commercial Fit Out (CAT A and CAT B)

Wigan, North West - Salary: £35,000 - £43,000 + package

The Opportunity

A well-established commercial fit-out contractor based in Wigan is looking to appoint an Assistant Estimator to join their growing pre-construction team.

This role is ideal for someone early in their estimating career who is keen to develop within a supportive and experienced team, working on a variety of CAT A and CAT B commercial fit-out projects across the North West.

You will support the estimating function from initial enquiry through to tender submission, gaining exposure to the full pre-construction process and working closely with senior estimators, commercial teams, and supply chain partners.

Key Responsibilities

Assist in preparing cost estimates for CAT A andamp; CAT B fit-out projects
*

Carry out detailed take-offs from drawings and specifications
*

Support the preparation of tender documentation and pricing schedules
*

Obtain and analyse subcontractor and supplier quotations
*

Maintain accurate records of costs, enquiries, and tender returns
*

Assist with value engineering exercises and cost comparisons
*

Support tender submissions and project handovers to delivery teams

What We're Looking For

*

Degree, HNC/HND, or working towards a qualification in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or similar
*

Previous experience in a construction or fit-out environment (estimating exposure advantageous but not essential)
*

Strong numerical and analytical skills
*

Good working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and estimating software (or willingness to learn)
*

Highly organised with strong attention to detail
*

Enthusiastic, proactive, and keen to progress within estimating
