Materials Buyer - Residential Construction

A well-respected regional main contractor / house builder is seeking an experienced Materials Buyer to join their growing team. This is an excellent opportunity to work with a reputable business known for delivering high-quality residential developments across the region.

The successful candidate will play a key role in the procurement of materials, ensuring projects are supplied efficiently, cost-effectively, and in line with programme requirements.

Key Responsibilities

* Procurement of construction materials for residential developments
* Managing supplier relationships and negotiating competitive prices
* Placing purchase orders and ensuring timely delivery of materials to site
* Monitoring material costs and supporting budget control
* Liaising closely with site teams, commercial teams, and suppliers
* Ensuring materials meet required specifications and quality standards
* Maintaining accurate procurement records and documentation

Requirements

* Proven experience as a Materials Buyer within residential construction or main contracting
* Strong knowledge of construction materials and supply chains
* Excellent negotiation and supplier management skills
* Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple projects
* Strong communication and organisational skills
