Our client, a well-established and growing geo-environmental consultancy, is looking to appoint a Senior Geo-Environmental Engineer to join their expanding team in Manchester. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced professional to take a leading role in delivering a wide range of ground investigation, contamination, and environmental projects across the UK.

The Role:

As a Senior Geo-Environmental Engineer, you will play a key role in managing projects from inception through to completion. You will be responsible for overseeing site investigations, interpreting data, and delivering high-quality technical reports, while also mentoring junior staff and supporting business growth.

Key Responsibilities:

* Managing and delivering geo-environmental and geotechnical projects
* Designing and supervising site investigations (Phase I andamp; II)
* Carrying out and reviewing risk assessments (human health, groundwater, and gas)
* Interpreting site data and preparing factual and interpretive reports
* Developing remediation strategies and verification reports
* Liaising with clients, regulators, and stakeholders
* Mentoring junior engineers and supporting team development
* Assisting with project costing, tendering, and commercial management

Requirements:

* Degree in Geology, Environmental Science, Civil Engineering, or related field
* Significant experience in a geo-environmental consultancy role
* Strong knowledge of contaminated land legislation and guidance (e.g. CLR11)
* Experience managing ground investigations and supervising site works
* Proven report writing and project management skills
* Full UK driving licence

Desirable:

* Chartered status or working towards (e.g. with ICE, CIWEM, or Geological Society)
* Experience with geotechnical design or earthworks projects
* Strong client-facing and business development skills
