Quantity Surveyor / Estimator - Fit-Out and Joinery Projects

Skelmersdale, North West - Salary: £40,000-£45,000 per annum + package

Your new role:
Our client is seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor / Estimator to join their commercial team. This is a dual-role position combining estimating and surveying responsibilities, giving you full project lifecycle involvement from tender stage through to final account. You will play a key role in pricing work, managing costs, and ensuring commercial success across multiple fit-out and joinery projects.

Responsibilities will include:

* Preparing detailed cost estimates and tender submissions for fit-out and joinery projects
* Analysing drawings, specifications, and project requirements to produce accurate pricing
* Managing project costs from pre-construction through to completion
* Preparing and submitting valuations, variations, and final accounts
* Negotiating with clients, subcontractors, and suppliers
* Procuring subcontract packages and materials in line with project budgets
* Monitoring project financial performance and reporting to senior management
* Identifying risks and opportunities within tenders and live projects
* Supporting project teams with commercial advice and cost control
* Maintaining strong relationships with clients and supply chain partners

What you will need to succeed:

* Proven experience in a Quantity Surveyor and/or Estimator role within fit-out, joinery, or refurbishment sectors
* Strong knowledge of construction costs, estimating, and commercial management
* Experience working on projects up to £2million
* Ability to interpret drawings and specifications accurately
* Excellent negotiation and communication skills
* Strong commercial awareness and attention to detail
* Ability to manage multiple tenders and projects simultaneously
* Relevant qualification in Quantity Surveying or Construction Management preferred
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office and estimating software
