Senior Quantity Surveyor

Our client is a highly regarded consultancy with a strong reputation for delivering complex, large-scale infrastructure programmes across the UK. Due to continued growth and a healthy project pipeline, they are looking to appoint a Senior Quantity Surveyor with proven civils experience to play a key role in the successful delivery of major schemes.

The Opportunity
You will take a lead role in the commercial management of infrastructure projects, working across sectors such as highways, rail, utilities, and major public realm developments. From early-stage cost planning through to final account, you will be trusted to provide accurate commercial insight and add real value to both clients and project teams.

You'll be joining a collaborative, multi-disciplinary environment where your input will directly influence project outcomes, and where your professional development is actively supported.

Key Responsibilities

* Take full commercial ownership of civils and infrastructure projects from inception to completion
* Lead cost planning, estimating, and budgeting activities
* Manage procurement strategies and tender processes
* Administer contracts (NEC preferred), including variations, compensation events, and claims
* Produce accurate cost reporting, forecasting, and financial analysis
* Identify, manage, and mitigate commercial risks and opportunities
* Provide strategic advice and challenge to clients and stakeholders
* Support and mentor junior surveyors, contributing to team growth

About You

* Demonstrable experience as a Quantity Surveyor within infrastructure or civil engineering projects (essential)
* Strong working knowledge of NEC contracts and commercial frameworks
* Confident communicator with the ability to build relationships at all levels
* Proactive, detail-oriented, and commercially driven
* Experience managing multiple projects or complex workstreams
* Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying or similar (or equivalent experience)
* Working towards or already chartered (RICS or equivalent) is advantageous
