A well-established and highly respected specialist contractor with a turnover in excess of £10 million is seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join its growing commercial team in Carlisle.

Operating across the commercial construction sector, the business delivers high-quality interior fit-out, refurbishment, and specialist finishing projects throughout the UK. With a strong reputation for quality, repeat business, and long-standing client relationships, the company continues to secure major projects across a variety of sectors including commercial, education, healthcare, leisure, and residential developments.

The Role

As Quantity Surveyor, you will be responsible for:

* Managing the commercial aspects of interior fit-out and refurbishment projects from pre-construction through to final account
* Preparing and managing project budgets, valuations, and cost reports
* Producing accurate CVRs and financial forecasts
* Managing subcontractor procurement, negotiation, and accounts
* Identifying and managing variations and change control procedures
* Supporting the operational team to ensure projects are delivered on budget and to programme
* Liaising with clients, suppliers, subcontractors, and internal stakeholders
* Assisting with risk management and contractual matters
* Ensuring commercial processes and procedures are maintained throughout the project lifecycle

The Ideal Candidate

The successful Quantity Surveyor will have:

* Previous experience working as a Quantity Surveyor within the construction industry
* A strong background in interior fit-out and refurbishment projects
* Experience managing multiple projects simultaneously
* Good knowledge of standard forms of contract
* Strong commercial awareness and negotiation skills
* Excellent communication and relationship-building abilities
* A proactive and organised approach to work
* Full UK driving licence
