Estimator / Junior Estimator

Our client is a well-established and growing roofing and cladding contractor, delivering high-quality projects across the commercial and industrial sectors throughout the UK.

Due to continued growth and a strong pipeline of work, they are looking to recruit an Estimator to join their expanding team.

Junior Estimators or candidates looking to develop a long-term career within the construction industry will also be considered.

This is an excellent opportunity to join a successful business with a strong reputation within the roofing and cladding industry. The role will suit either an experienced Estimator or an ambitious individual looking to progress within a supportive and professional environment.

Key Responsibilities

* Preparing accurate and competitive cost estimates and tender submissions
* Reviewing drawings, specifications, and tender documentation
* Carrying out take-offs and measurements from drawings
* Obtaining and analysing quotations from suppliers and subcontractors
* Assisting in the preparation of project budgets and cost plans
* Liaising with clients, suppliers, subcontractors, and internal departments
* Supporting the commercial and project teams throughout the tender process
* Ensuring submissions are completed accurately and within deadlines
* Identifying value engineering opportunities where appropriate

Requirements

* Previous estimating experience within roofing, cladding, construction, or a related industry would be advantageous
* Junior candidates with construction knowledge and a willingness to learn will also be considered
* Strong numerical, analytical, and organisational skills
* Excellent attention to detail
* Good communication and interpersonal skills
* Ability to work independently and within a team environment
* Proficient in Microsoft Office packages
* Knowledge of estimating software would be beneficial but not essential
