Your new role:
Our client is seeking an experienced Senior Estimator with a strong background in housing groundworks to join their commercial and pre-construction team based in Huyton. You will play a key role in securing new projects by preparing accurate and competitive tenders for residential groundworks and infrastructure packages.

Responsibilities will include:

* Preparing detailed estimates and tender submissions for housing groundworks projects
* Pricing roads, sewers, drainage, foundations, external works, and infrastructure packages
* Reviewing drawings, specifications, and technical documentation
* Producing accurate take-offs for labour, plant, materials, and subcontract works
* Obtaining and analysing supplier and subcontractor quotations
* Identifying commercial risks and value engineering opportunities
* Liaising with clients, engineers, and operational teams throughout the tender process
* Managing multiple tenders and meeting strict submission deadlines
* Maintaining estimating records, cost databases, and supplier information
* Assisting with handovers to commercial and delivery teams following project awards

What you will need to succeed:

* Proven experience as an Estimator or Senior Estimator within housing groundworks or civil engineering
* Strong knowledge of residential infrastructure packages including roads, sewers, and drainage
* Excellent commercial awareness and attention to detail
* Strong numerical, analytical, and negotiation skills
* Ability to manage multiple tenders simultaneously
* Proficiency in estimating software and Microsoft Excel
* Experience working with national or regional housebuilders preferred
* Full UK driving licence
* HNC/HND or degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction, or Civil Engineering desirable
