Quantity Surveyor - Refurbishment and Maintenance

Location - Cumbria

Salary/Package - £40,000 - £60,000 per annum + comprehensive package

The company has built a strong reputation for delivering high-quality works across social housing, public sector and commercial environments, working closely with housing associations, local authorities and framework partners. With a strong pipeline of secured work and continued growth plans, they are looking to strengthen their commercial team with the appointment of an experienced Quantity Surveyor.

The Role

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Quantity Surveyor to join a growing commercial team managing refurbishment and maintenance projects across Cumbria.

The successful candidate will take commercial responsibility for a range of planned maintenance, refurbishment and reactive maintenance schemes, ensuring projects are delivered profitably while maintaining strong relationships with clients and subcontractors.

As Quantity Surveyor, you will be responsible for:

* Managing the commercial aspects of refurbishment and maintenance projects
* Preparing and submitting valuations and applications for payment
* Cost control, forecasting and financial reporting
* Managing subcontractor procurement, payments and accounts
* Assessing and managing project variations
* Supporting tendering and pricing activities where required
* Producing final accounts
* Working closely with operational teams to ensure projects remain on budget
* Maintaining strong client and subcontractor relationships

The Ideal Candidate

The successful Quantity Surveyor will have:

* Previous experience within refurbishment, planned maintenance or reactive maintenance projects
* Experience working within social housing or public sector frameworks (desirable)
* Strong commercial awareness and contractual knowledge
* Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
* Good negotiation and communication skills
* A proactive and organised approach to work
* Relevant Quantity Surveying qualification or equivalent experience
* Full UK driving licence
