About the Company

Our client is a leading nationwide façade contractor specialising in façade remediation and large-scale new-build projects across the UK. Delivering complete building envelope solutions, they work on complex residential, commercial, and mixed-use developments, providing expertise in cladding, brick slips, external wall insulation (EWI), rendering, steel framing systems, glazing, and curtain walling.

Working as both a Principal Contractor and Specialist Subcontractor, the business has established an excellent reputation for delivering technically challenging façade schemes in line with the latest building safety regulations. With a strong pipeline of remediation and new-build projects, continued growth has created an exciting opportunity for an experienced Estimator to join their pre-construction team in Manchester.

The Role

As Estimator, you will be responsible for:

Preparing accurate and competitive estimates for façade and building envelope projects
*

Reviewing drawings, specifications, and tender documentation
*

Producing detailed quantity take-offs, cost plans, and pricing schedules
*

Obtaining and evaluating quotations from suppliers and specialist subcontractors
*

Preparing comprehensive tender submissions within required deadlines
*

Identifying value engineering opportunities and cost-saving solutions
*

Assessing commercial and technical risks throughout the tender process
*

Attending tender adjudication meetings and supporting bid strategy
*

Working closely with the commercial, design, and operational teams throughout the pre-construction phase
*

Building and maintaining strong relationships with clients, consultants, suppliers, and subcontractors
*

Supporting successful project handovers to the commercial and delivery teams following contract award

The Ideal Candidate

The successful Estimator will have:

*

Proven experience as an Estimator within the construction industry
*

Experience within façades, cladding, remediation, external wall insulation (EWI), glazing, curtain walling, or the wider building envelope sector would be highly advantageous
*

Alternatively, estimating experience with a Main Contractor delivering major construction projects will also be considered
*

Strong understanding of construction methods, estimating principles, and procurement
*

Excellent commercial awareness and analytical skills
*

Ability to interpret construction drawings and specifications
*

Strong negotiation and communication skills
*

Good knowledge of Microsoft Excel and estimating software
*

A proactive, organised, and commercially driven approach
*

Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related discipline would be advantageous
