Site Manager

Our client is looking to recruit an experienced Site Manager to join their team, delivering a range of water and wastewater infrastructure projects across North and South Cumbria.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Site Manager with a strong civil engineering or utilities background to play a key role in delivering essential infrastructure projects safely, efficiently, and to the highest quality standards.

The Role

Reporting to the Construction Manager, you will be responsible for the day-to-day management of construction activities on site, ensuring projects are delivered safely, on programme, within budget, and in line with client expectations.

Key Responsibilities

* Manage the safe delivery of construction activities on site.
* Lead site teams and subcontractors to achieve programme milestones.
* Ensure compliance with health, safety, environmental, and quality standards.
* Coordinate labour, plant, and materials to maximise productivity.
* Monitor project progress and report on programme performance.
* Conduct site inspections, toolbox talks, and safety briefings.
* Liaise with clients, stakeholders, and the wider project team.
* Ensure all site documentation is completed accurately and on time.
* Identify and resolve on-site issues to minimise delays.
* Promote a positive safety culture and high-quality workmanship.

About You

The successful candidate will have:

* Previous experience as a Site Manager within civil engineering, utilities, or infrastructure.
* Experience delivering water and/or wastewater projects is highly desirable.
* Strong knowledge of construction methodologies and health andamp; safety legislation.
* Excellent leadership and communication skills.
* Ability to manage multiple subcontractors and site activities.
* Good organisational and problem-solving abilities.
* Full UK driving licence.

* SMSTS
* CSCS Manager Card
* First Aid at Work
* Temporary Works awareness (desirable)
* NRSWA Supervisor (desirable)
* EUSR Water Hygiene (desirable)
