Multi Skilled Operative (Temp to Perm)

Job Type: Temp to Perm
Rate: £21 per hour CIS
Hours: 40 hours per week

About the Role

We are currently recruiting for an experienced Multi Skilled Operative to work on a temp-to-perm basis delivering planned maintenance and refurbishment works within the Social Housing sector across Basildon/Rochford area.

Working within tenanted properties, you will be responsible for carrying out a variety of trade tasks including kitchen and bathroom installations, joinery, plumbing, plastering, and general property maintenance. Experience with vinyl flooring is advantageous but not essential.

This role would suit a reliable and customer-focused operative who is confident working independently within occupied homes and delivering high-quality workmanship.

Key Responsibilities

* Carrying out full kitchen and bathroom installations
* Completing a range of joinery repairs and installation works
* Undertaking general plumbing tasks and minor repairs
* Performing plastering and patch repairs as required
* Installing vinyl flooring where necessary (desirable)
* Completing general maintenance and refurbishment works within occupied properties
* Ensuring all work is carried out safely and in line with health and safety regulations
* Providing excellent customer service while working in residents' homes
* Maintaining high standards of workmanship and professionalism at all times

Requirements

To be considered for this role, candidates should have:

* NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Joinery (or equivalent)
* Proven experience as a Multi Skilled Operative
* Strong skills across multiple trades including joinery, plumbing, plastering, and kitchen/bathroom fitting
* Previous experience working within the Social Housing sector
* Full UK Driving Licence
* Ability to work independently and manage workloads effectively
* Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
* Experience fitting vinyl flooring is desirable but not essential
