Junior Accountant

Location: Manchester (Office-based, Full-time)
Salary: £32,000 - £36,000 per annum (depending on experience)

Our Client are a bespoke British property development company specialising in property investment, construction management, and premium building materials trading. Due to our continued growth, they are looking for a motivated Junior Accountant to join their finance team at their Manchester office.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to build a long-term career in accounting, with genuine opportunities for professional development and career progression within a growing and ambitious business.

Key Responsibilities

* Assist the Senior Accountant with day-to-day accounting duties.
* Carry out basic bookkeeping, including processing purchase and sales invoices, receipts, and payments.
* Maintain accurate financial records and update accounting systems.
* Perform bank and supplier statement reconciliations.
* Support month-end and year-end accounting processes.
* Assist with preparing financial reports and management information.
* Undertake general administrative duties to support the finance function.
* Prepare spreadsheets and reports using Microsoft Excel.
* Produce and edit documents using Microsoft Word.
* Liaise professionally with colleagues, suppliers, and external stakeholders.

Requirements

* Previous experience in a bookkeeping, accounts assistant, or junior accounting role is preferred.
* AAT qualification (or studying towards AAT/ACCA/CIMA) is advantageous but not essential.
* Good understanding of basic accounting principles.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word.
* Excellent attention to detail and strong organisational skills.
* Good communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team.
* A proactive attitude with a willingness to learn and develop professionally.
