Contracts Manager

An established and reputable main contractor is looking to appoint an experienced Contracts Manager to join its operational team, overseeing the successful delivery of several construction projects across the North West.

The business has a strong reputation for delivering new-build, refurbishment and redevelopment projects up to £15m across a variety of sectors, including industrial, commercial, education, healthcare, residential and other complex building projects

The successful candidate will have overall responsibility for the operational delivery of multiple projects, providing leadership to Project Managers, Site Managers and wider site teams while ensuring projects are delivered safely, efficiently, on programme and to the required quality standards.

The Role

As Contracts Manager, you will:

* Take overall responsibility for the successful delivery of multiple construction projects.
* Oversee projects from pre-construction and mobilisation through to completion and handover.
* Provide leadership and support to Project Managers, Site Managers and wider operational teams.
* Coordinate with consultants, architects, subcontractors and internal design teams to resolve design issues and maintain progress.
* Develop, manage and update detailed construction programmes using Asta Powerproject.
* Ensure design, procurement and construction activities are properly sequenced and aligned with project programmes.
* Work closely with commercial teams to monitor project financial performance, costs, variations and profitability.
* Maintain strong relationships with clients, consultants, subcontractors and other key stakeholders.
* Attend and lead client, design and progress meetings.
* Ensure projects are properly resourced and operational teams are performing effectively.
* Identify project risks and implement appropriate mitigation strategies.
* Ensure high standards of health andamp; safety, quality and environmental compliance are maintained.
* Provide leadership on complex operational and construction issues.
* Assist with pre-construction, tender and mobilisation activities where required.
* Drive continuous improvement across project delivery and operational processes



About You

You will be an experienced Contracts Manager with a proven track record working for a main contractor and successfully managing multiple projects and operational teams.

It is essential that you have:

* Proven experience operating at Contracts Manager level within a main contracting environment.
* Experience managing Project Managers, Site Managers and wider operational teams.
* A strong understanding of construction delivery, programming, commercial performance and health andamp; safety.
* Proven ability to produce and manager construction programmes using Asta.
* Excellent client-facing and stakeholder management skills.
* Strong leadership and team management capabilities.
* The ability to manage multiple projects and competing priorities.
* A commercially aware and proactive approach.
* A proven track record of delivering projects safely, on programme and to budget.
