Technical Pre-Construction / Technical Coordinator

Salary: £45,000-£60,000
Location: Office-based
Sector: Building Envelope / Specialist Subcontracting

The Role

We are looking for an experienced Technical Pre-Construction / Technical Coordinator to join a rapidly growing specialist construction business. This is a key technical position, offering the opportunity to take genuine ownership of the technical process and work closely with the Head of Technical, pre-construction, supply chain and delivery teams.

The role will suit someone with a strong technical background who enjoys working through detailed drawing packages, interpreting specifications and ensuring design information is accurate, coordinated and commercially aligned.

Experience within doors, façades, curtain walling, cladding, roofing, windows, architectural metalwork or other building envelope systems would be highly advantageous.

Key Responsibilities

*

Review and interpret architectural drawings, specifications and technical information.
*

Analyse complex enquiries and translate requirements into clear technical solutions.
*

Act as the technical interface between clients, customers and the internal design team.
*

Coordinate drawings, revisions, approvals and technical submissions.
*

Ensure drawing revision numbers and technical information are accurately controlled.
*

Identify technical issues, risks and design requirements at pre-construction stage.
*

Work closely with the Head of Technical to maintain high technical standards and improve processes.
*

Liaise with clients, architects, contractors, designers and suppliers as required.
*

Attend client meetings and provide technical input where required.
*

Support projects from initial enquiry through design development and into delivery.
*

Coordinate the day-to-day workflow of offshore design resources and freelance designers.
*

Help improve communication, reporting and technical coordination across the business.
*

Ensure technical outputs are delivered accurately, on time and in line with project and commercial requirements.

About You

We are looking for someone who is technically strong, highly organised and exceptionally detail-focused. You will be comfortable reviewing large volumes of technical information and spending time working through detailed drawing packs without losing attention to detail.

You will be:

*

Proactive and able to take ownership.
*

Highly organised with excellent attention to detail.
*

A strong communicator, both internally and externally.
*

Comfortable dealing directly with clients and attending meetings.
*

Confident interpreting technical drawings and specifications.
*

Able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
*

Comfortable coordinating designers and technical resources.
*

Someone who enjoys solving technical problems rather than simply identifying them.
*

Reliable and consistent, with a stable employment background.

Ideal Backgrounds

We would consider candidates from a range of technical backgrounds, including:

*

Technical Sales
*

Technical Design
*

Design Management
*

Technical Engineering
*

Technical Advisory / Consultancy
*

Technical Coordination
*

Pre-Construction
*

Specialist Subcontracting

Experience with CAD files, architectural drawings and building envelope systems is particularly desirable, including doors, windows, curtain walling, cladding, roofing and façades.

About the Business

Rotec is a growing UK specialist contractor focused on high-quality metal doors and communal entrance systems for major construction projects. The business provides turnkey design, supply and installation solutions, with projects typically forming part of large-scale developments valued at £30m+.

Working across commercial, education, healthcare, public, energy and high-security environments, Rotec works closely with major contractors and architects to deliver compliant, high-performance specialist solutions.

This is an opportunity to join a business where people are trusted to take ownership, decisions are made quickly and technical quality genuinely matters.

Why Join?

*

Genuine opportunity to influence and shape technical delivery.
*

Close working relationship with senior leadership.
*

Growing business with significant future opportunities.
*

Varied specialist technical work.
*

Opportunity to develop and take on greater responsibility.
*

Supportive, close-knit culture with minimal corporate bureaucracy.
*

The chance to make a tangible impact on processes, standards and project delivery.
