A long-established regional building contractor is looking to appoint an experienced Construction Planner to support its portfolio of projects across the North West.

This is an opportunity to join a contractor delivering a range of construction schemes, working closely with the pre-construction and operational teams to provide planning support from tender stage through to project completion. The role will suit an experienced Planner who can produce accurate programmes, identify potential issues and work with site teams to keep projects on track.

The Role

You will be responsible for developing and managing construction programmes throughout the delivery stage of projects, working closely with operational teams to monitor progress against key milestones, identify potential delays and manage programme risks. You will also have involvement at tender and pre-construction stages, providing planning input to support project proposals, construction sequencing and delivery strategies.

Responsibilities will include:

* Preparing construction programmes for live projects.
* Working with Contracts Managers, Project Managers and site teams to develop realistic programmes and construction sequences.
* Monitoring progress against agreed programmes and identifying potential delays or risks.
* Producing programme updates, progress reports and recovery plans where required.
* Undertaking critical path analysis and assessing the impact of changes to project delivery.
* Liaising with subcontractors and project teams to ensure programme requirements are understood and achievable.
* Attending site visits and progress meetings to review progress and agree actions.
* Identifying opportunities to improve efficiency, minimise delays and maintain project deadlines.

About You

You will have previous experience in a Construction Planner or Project Planner role within a main contractor environment, with a sound understanding of construction methods, sequencing and site operations.

You will also have:

* Experience producing and managing construction programmes
* Proficiency in Asta Powerproject
* The ability to identify programme risks and develop practical solutions.
* Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with site and management teams.
* A proactive and organised approach, with good attention to detail.
* The confidence to work with project teams to keep programmes on schedule.

The Opportunity

This role offers the chance to take an active role in the planning and delivery of a varied portfolio of construction projects, working closely with the teams responsible for delivering them. You will have input at both tender and construction stages, with the opportunity to influence programme strategy and help ensure projects are delivered efficiently.
