Eggcellent Easter for families across the Wigan borough!!

At BCUK, community has always been at the heart of what we do. So when our friends at Greenmount Projects launched their Charity Chocolate Challenge with the ambitious target of collecting 1,000 Easter eggs for local causes, we weren’t about to sit it out.

The challenge aimed to support some of the most valued organisations in our borough including Derian House Children’s Hospice,Wigan & Leigh Hospice, The Brick, Daffodils Dreams C.I.C., and Wigan Youth Zone. Each of these charities delivers vital support to families across Wigan, so helping make their Easter a little brighter felt like an easy decision. The BCUK team pulled together and collected 154 Easter eggs, which we delivered to the Greenmount team to help push the total closer to that 1,000‑egg milestone.

Managing Director, Mike Farragher, said: “Easter’s a great time for everyone here at BCUK — a chance to switch off, spend time with our families, and enjoy a bit of chocolate without feeling guilty about it. But we’re also very aware that not every family across the borough gets to enjoy Easter in the same way.That’s why getting involved in this Easter egg appeal felt important. If we could help even a few families have a happier, easier Easter, then it was absolutely worth it.Seeing the eggs dropped off this week really brought it home — it was a small thing for us, but it made a big difference for others. And that’s exactly the kind of impact we want to have.”
