Overview:
An established groundworks division with a £5 million turnover is seeking an experienced and results-driven Head of Groundworks. This is a pivotal role for an individual with a proven track record in the construction and civil engineering industry who can drive operational efficiency, improve utilization, and ensure profitability.

Key Responsibilities:

Lead and manage all aspects of the groundworks division, ensuring optimal project delivery and operational efficiency.
*

Drive business performance to achieve near 100% utilization of resources and workforce.
*

Oversee project planning, resource allocation, and execution to maximize productivity and cost-effectiveness.
*

Develop and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including suppliers, subcontractors, and clients.
*

Ensure efficient and cost-effective muckshifts by leveraging industry connections and negotiation skills.
*

Identify and implement operational improvements to streamline workflows and enhance profitability.
*

Work closely with site teams to ensure quality, safety, and compliance with industry regulations.
*

Manage financial performance, including budgeting, forecasting, and cost control.
*

Mentor and develop the team, fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.

Key Requirements:

Proven leadership experience in the groundworks or civil engineering sector.

Strong industry connections to facilitate smooth muckshifts and procurement of materials.

Hands-on approach with the ability to get involved at all levels of operations.

Commercial acumen with experience in managing budgets, contracts, and operational targets.

Excellent negotiation and problem-solving skills.

Strong knowledge of health andamp; safety regulations and compliance requirements.
