The company has experienced sustained growth and is now looking to strengthen its team in the North West by appointing a skilled Estimator/Contracts Manager based in Preston.

Your new role

Our client is seeking an experienced Estimator/Contracts Manager to join their growing commercial and operational team. This hybrid role combines estimating duties with project management responsibilities, providing full cradle-to-grave control over roofing and cladding contracts. The successful candidate will play a key role in pricing work, managing resources, liaising with stakeholders, and ensuring projects are delivered on time and within budget.

Responsibilities will include:

Preparing detailed tenders and estimates for roofing and cladding works
*

Conducting site visits to assess project requirements and potential risks
*

Liaising with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain accurate costings
*

Preparing and submitting pricing schedules in response to tender enquiries
*

Overseeing awarded contracts, managing on-site operations and ensuring work is delivered to programme and specification
*

Monitoring project budgets, variations, and timelines, ensuring financial control is maintained
*

Acting as the primary point of contact for clients, consultants, and site teams
*

Ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations and quality standards
*

Managing subcontractor performance, delivery schedules, and labour allocation
*

Attending progress meetings and reporting project status to senior management

What you will need to succeed:

Proven experience in a dual Estimator / Contracts Manager role, ideally within the roofing and cladding sector
*

Strong knowledge of commercial roofing systems, cladding types, and modern building envelope solutions
*

Excellent analytical, organisational, and communication skills
*

Proficiency in Microsoft Office and estimating software (e.g., Excel, Bluebeam, or similar)
*

Ability to manage multiple live projects and tender enquiries simultaneously
*

A proactive, problem-solving mindset with strong attention to detail
*

Full UK driving licence
*

Relevant qualifications in construction management, quantity surveying, or a related discipline (desirable)
