Your new role

Our client is seeking a confident and detail-oriented Quantity Surveyor / Estimator to join their commercial team at their Liverpool office. This dual-role position is crucial in supporting the delivery of complex and bespoke manufactured solutions for high-security and performance-critical environments. You will be involved in project cost planning, estimation, and commercial management throughout the project lifecycle.

Responsibilities will include:

Preparing accurate and detailed cost estimates for bespoke door and barrier projects
*

Liaising with design, engineering, and manufacturing teams to ensure project requirements are fully understood and costed
*

Producing and managing bills of quantities, tender documents, and procurement schedules
*

Conducting risk and value management assessments
*

Analysing subcontractor quotations and negotiating contract terms
*

Managing interim valuations, progress claims, and final accounts
*

Monitoring project budgets and advising on any potential cost implications
*

Supporting the commercial team in pricing variations and managing change control
*

Maintaining detailed documentation and records of all commercial activities
*

Attending pre-tender and project review meetings with internal and external stakeholders

What you will need to succeed:

Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor and/or Estimator within the construction, manufacturing, or specialist fabrication sectors
*

Strong understanding of commercial processes, cost control, and contract management
*

Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications
*

Excellent communication and negotiation skills
*

Strong attention to detail and analytical thinking
*

Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and estimating software (e.g., Bluebeam, Causeway, or similar)
*

HNC/HND or degree qualified in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related discipline
*

A proactive and team-oriented approach
