Senior Quantity Surveyor - Housing DandB Schemes

Location: Lancashire

Salary: Up to £70,000 + package

Specialising in Design andamp; Build (Dandamp;B) schemes, they are committed to innovation and excellence within the housing sector. With a strong track record of successful project delivery, they are looking to expand their team with an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to support the growth of their housing developments.

Your new role
Our client is seeking a Senior Quantity Surveyor to manage the financial aspects of housing Design andamp; Build projects, ensuring that they are delivered on time and within budget. This is a key role where you will take responsibility for the full lifecycle of the project, from pre-construction to final account settlement, ensuring cost control, value engineering, and financial reporting.

Responsibilities will include:

Overseeing the financial management of multiple housing projects from inception to completion.
*

Producing detailed cost estimates, budgets, and financial reports.
*

Managing tender processes and preparing subcontractor agreements.
*

Value engineering to ensure cost-effective solutions.
*

Monitoring project costs against budgets and providing regular financial updates to senior management.
*

Conducting site visits to assess progress, quality, and costs.
*

Managing client and subcontractor relationships, ensuring clear and effective communication.
*

Ensuring compliance with contract terms, quality standards, and health and safety regulations.
*

Resolving any contractual disputes or financial issues that may arise during the project.
*

Producing final account submissions and managing post-project evaluations.

What you will need to succeed:

*

A degree in Quantity Surveying or a related field (RICS or CIOB qualification is highly desirable).
*

Extensive experience as a Quantity Surveyor, ideally with a background in residential Design andamp; Build projects.
*

Proven experience in managing financial aspects of housing schemes, including cost estimating, budgeting, and tendering.
*

Strong knowledge of construction contracts, procurement, and legal processes.
*

Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and work under pressure.
*

Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
*

Proficiency in using cost management software and MS Excel.
*

A proactive and solution-focused approach to problem-solving.
*

Strong attention to detail and organisational skills.
