This is an exciting opportunity to join a well-established and highly respected drylining and interiors contractor based in Rochdale. Operating across commercial, residential, and public sector developments, the company has built a solid reputation over the years for delivering high-quality internal fit-out and drylining solutions across the North West. Their continued pipeline of secured work now requires the support of a knowledgeable and experienced Freelance Quantity Surveyor.

Your new role

Our client is seeking a capable and commercially astute Freelance Quantity Surveyor to support their drylining projects on a contract basis. You'll be responsible for managing the commercial aspects of various schemes, from procurement and tendering through to final accounts, ensuring projects remain financially on track.

Responsibilities will include:

Preparing tender submissions and contract documentation
*

Procuring subcontractor packages and negotiating favourable terms
*

Monitoring project costs and valuing completed work
*

Managing variations, valuations, and payments
*

Forecasting budgets, tracking spend, and reporting to directors
*

Liaising closely with project managers, clients, and suppliers
*

Managing subcontractor accounts, including payments and disputes
*

Assisting in the preparation of final accounts
*

Ensuring projects comply with contractual and legal obligations
*

Working across multiple live sites as required

What you will need to succeed:

*

Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor within drylining or interiors
*

Strong knowledge of SMM7, JCT contracts, and construction law
*

Comfortable managing multiple projects in a fast-paced environment
*

Ability to work independently and communicate effectively
*

Strong negotiation and analytical skills
*

Proficient in Microsoft Excel and estimating software
*

CSCS card
*

Immediate availability preferred
