You'll be joining a well-established and growing principal contractor based in Manchester that specialises in delivering high-quality commercial fit out and refurbishment projects across the North West. With a solid reputation built on delivering schemes in sectors such as hospitality, leisure, retail, education, and workspace environments, this company prides itself on combining modern construction techniques with a hands-on, collaborative approach.

Your new role

Our client is seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor / Estimator to join their close-knit commercial team and take responsibility for pricing and commercially managing full fit out projects valued up to £1million. The successful candidate will be involved from tender stage through to final account, helping to ensure projects are delivered on time, to budget and to the highest standards.

Responsibilities will include:

Preparing detailed cost estimates and tender submissions
*

Conducting site visits to assess and quantify works
*

Reviewing drawings, specifications, and project documents
*

Managing all commercial aspects of multiple projects simultaneously
*

Producing valuations, cost plans, and cost reports
*

Managing sub-contractor procurement, negotiation, and accounts
*

Attending project meetings with internal teams and clients
*

Monitoring project costs and managing variations
*

Preparing and agreeing final accounts
*

Supporting the team with forecasting and budgeting
*

Working closely with project managers to ensure commercial success

What you will need to succeed:

Previous experience in a Quantity Surveyor or Estimator role within the fit out or refurbishment sector
*

A solid understanding of construction contracts and commercial processes
*

Proven track record of managing fit out projects from pre-construction to completion
*

Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications
*

Strong negotiation, communication, and reporting skills
*

Self-motivated, commercially astute and detail-oriented
*

A valid UK driving licence
*

A relevant qualification in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or similar (preferred)
