Your new role

Our client is seeking an experienced Project Quantity Surveyor with a background in Design andamp; Build (Dandamp;B) projects to join their dynamic team. You will play a pivotal role in overseeing the financial management of residential and commercial schemes ranging from £700k to £6m, ensuring cost control, value engineering, and efficient contract administration from pre-construction through to final account.

Responsibilities will include:

Managing all cost-related aspects of construction projects from inception to completion

Preparing accurate cost plans, budgets, and tender documents for Dandamp;B projects
*

Performing risk, value management, and cost control
*

Monitoring project progress, forecasting costs, and managing variations
*

Preparing interim valuations, final accounts, and subcontractor payments
*

Attending regular project and site meetings to provide commercial support
*

Working closely with the site team and design consultants to ensure best value
*

Ensuring compliance with contractual obligations and company procedures
*

Supporting procurement of subcontractors and materials
*

Reporting directly to the Commercial Manager/Director

What you will need to succeed:

Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor on Dandamp;B projects (main contractor side)
*

Minimum of 4+ years' experience in a similar role within the UK construction industry
*

Strong understanding of JCT contracts and cost control systems
*

HNC/HND or degree in Quantity Surveying or Commercial Management
*

Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and standard QS software packages
*

Excellent communication, negotiation, and organisational skills
*

Ability to manage multiple projects concurrently
*

Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel to regional sites
