Assistant Quantity Surveyor

Our client is a well-established and forward-thinking construction contractor, delivering high-quality projects across various sectors including commercial, residential, and public infrastructure. With a strong pipeline of work across the North West, they're looking to develop the next generation of commercial talent-starting with a motivated Assistant Quantity Surveyor to join their site-based team in Manchester and Liverpool

The Role
This is a fantastic opportunity for an ambitious Assistant Quantity Surveyor looking to gain hands-on experience while learning from an experienced commercial team. You'll support the day-to-day commercial management of live construction projects, ensuring accurate cost control, reporting, and subcontractor management.

Key Responsibilities

* Assist in preparing cost estimates, tender submissions, and valuations
* Support the procurement of subcontractors and materials
* Monitor costs and assist with project financial reporting
* Help manage subcontractor payments and variations
* Conduct regular site visits and liaise with site teams
* Ensure compliance with company procedures and contractual obligations

What We're Looking For

* Degree-qualified or currently studying Quantity Surveying (or similar)
* 2 years' experience in an Assistant Quantity Surveyor
* Eager to learn, reliable, and detail-oriented
* Good communication and organisational skills
* Familiar with Microsoft Excel and industry software (e.g. Bluebeam, Causeway - beneficial)
* A team player who enjoys a fast-paced site setting
